James Dewees, previously a keyboardist for The Get Up Kids, released a a new song from his solo project Reggie and the Full Effect last Wednesday. The song, titled “Maggie” is from their new album 41, set to released on February 23rd.
James stated, “Maggie” is something I wrote musically as a throwback to earlier Reggie songs like “Thanks for Stayin.” Where it’s a moving verse that comes in and out rhythmically but all leads up to the chorus. And I feel like everyone in the world can relate to the words. It’s for the person/people/animals you care about. And letting them know that you love them soooo much that when they are hurting, you are hurting right there with them. Even if you can’t tell them because you don’t want to upset them anymore than they already are.”
“Maggie” was released through NewNoiseMagazine.com and you can listen to the song below.
Dewees has not released an album in 4 years, and 41 will be the band’s 7th studio album. Reggie and the Full Effect will be on tour to support the release of 41 along with Senses Fail, and Have Mercy and Household.
