August Burns Red Celebrates Ten Years Of Messengers In Jersey!

Its been a long ten years since the release of August Burns Red’s second album, Messengers. This album which marked the arrival of frontman Jake Luhrs and reaching number 81 on the Billboard 200 list. Every time I see ABR its like seeing a new band. They manage to create a brand new experience. Then ten year tour was no different. From open to close it was a fast paced wave of lights and sounds to stimulate you in a way that you can only experience at an August Burns Red show.

Each opener was a perfect set up to bring the crowd up for the headlining act. Starting out with the duo ’68, with there grunge punk sound and incredible stage presence they brought the crowd everything they could’ve asked for from an opener. Quickly following was In Hearts Wake, and Protest The Hero, each brought their own style to the stage and killed their performances. Finally it was time for August Burns Red. The venue went black, the projection screen rose, and the drums for “Truth of a Liar” opened the stage following the rest of the band. They performed a flawless set of Messengers, start to finish and it was incredible. Theres something about listening to an album live from start to finish that just feels so good. It satisfies creates a bliss. After the album they came back out for a six song encore including an incredible drum solo. The boys still have dates left before heading over seas so check them out!
