Dinosaur Pile-Up have just released their latest single, “Nothing Personal” off their upcoming album, ELEVEN ELEVEN, which will be out August 26th. Checkout “Nothing Personal” below.
Now that’s a jam! The vocalist and guitarist, Matt Bigland, describes the song as a “nihilist speed race.” It’s about escaping and moving through life at full throttle. The song’s sound definitely reflects its description. “Nothing Personal” was recorded all on the first take – how impressive is that? Oh, and can we all please take a moment to appreciate how amazing the band name, “Dinosaur Pile-Up” is?
The band formed in 2007 and instantly drew comparisons to the Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, and Foo Fighters. Their name comes from a scene in Peter Jackson’s version of King Kong where a stampede of dinosaurs collide at the foot of a mountain, naturally. Their first EP came out in 2009 and they have gone on to record two studio albums after that. They’ve toured with Weezer, Pixies, Brand New, and many more. Seems like these guys are getting pretty big! Before you know it, there’s going to be a human pile-up at all their shows! Er.. or maybe just a normal crowd of people.
