Japan Sensation One Ok Rock to be Primary Support on 5 Seconds of Summer Tour

One Ok Rock, the pop rock revelation from Japan, will be the direct and primary support for 5 Seconds of Summer’s upcoming summer tour. The tour commences with a July 1 Connecticut show and runs nationwide through mid-September. This tour serves as a follow up for One Ok Rock’s tour last fall with All Time Low.

The group’s collaboration with both All Time Low and 5 Seconds of Summer are sure to bring them immense amounts of exposure. This announcement and tour also serve as promotion for their first ever American release, 35xxxv Deluxe Edition. The record has been the subject of significant acclaim, reaching as highly as #17 on the Billboard Heatseekers Album Chart.

One Ok Rock have ascended to the forefront of Japanese culture and the country’s music scene with their artful blend of emo, punk, alternative, and indie influences. Additional praise ought to be given to their perpetual fervor and energy over their lengthy career.

Specific praise comes from The Alternative Press, with the publication saying “The Tokyo-based quartet spare no effort mining elements of metal, pop punk and hardcore, further refining these influences into songs that are charming as they are jarring. At heart, ONE OK ROCK exudes a passion and focus that easily makes many of their peers (and influences) seem completely jaded.”
