Modern Baseball Release “Wedding Singer”, Announce Tour & Holy Ghost Release Date

A group that could easily be called the city of brotherly love’s punk rock beacon, Modern Baseball are pleased to release their latest music video for the track “Wedding Singer” off of their upcoming LP Holy Ghost. The video was directed by frequent collaborator Kyle Thrash in what is undoubtedly their most confident and assured effort yet. Holy Ghost is due out May 13 via Run For Cover Records and can be pre-ordered here. The video for “Wedding Singer” can be viewed below.

The group will also embark on a national tour in support of their upcoming release along with Joyce Manor and Thin Lips. A list of tour dates is provided below and tickets can be ordered here.

Offering a slight departure from their DIY roots, the upcoming Holy Ghost is the group’s first release in which the album was not recorded internally. Joe Reinhart (Hop Along, Joyce Manor) helped capture, develop, and refine the group’s sound throughout Holy Ghost’s eleven tracks. In a move that is seen all too rarely in contemporary music, the album is split in half between the group’s two lead singers while themes of richly impressive emotional depth are explored and thought upon. The LP pulls significantly from the band’s experiences throughout the past two years, particularly with their hectic recording and touring schedules, the exposure, and the accompanying highs and lows.

Much of Modern Baseball’s current hype and acclaim comes from their 2014 release You’re Gonna Miss It All, which peaked at #97 on the Billboard 200 charts. This then led to national and global tours with major groups such as Say Anything, The Wonder Years, and the Mezingers to name a few.

The band began to decant their sound with 2015’s The Perfect Cast EP, offering a more mature and developed form of expression. The punk outfit hopes to continue this rapid rise and commendable development throughout 2016. A tracklist for Holy Ghost as well as upcoming tour dates are provided below.
