The Nightowls Premiere New Single, Announce Tour & New EP Release Date

The Nightowls, both a previous feature on Halfbeat and the outfit responsible for bringing motown soul to Texas’ capital city, The Nightowls are keen to promote their new single “Clean It Up (Play By The Rules)” ahead of both their summer tour and the release of their newest EP Royal Sessions, due out July 15th. Tickets for the upcoming tour can be purchased here, and the group’s newest single can be streamed below.

 

As previously mentioned, the band’s EP is a product of the outfit’s time at the famed Royal Studios in Memphis (Al Green’s old stomping ground.) Royal Sessions also illustrates the determined effort of the group to transcend their “retro” tag (a tag that, considering the band’s motown roots, is a natural compliment to their authenticity) in an attempt to equivalently pay reverence to the titans of time past and carve out their own, unique sound.
