Stove have shared the music video for their latest foray into irreverence. The track “Stupider” off of their newly released debut album Is Stupider, via Exploding In Sound Records, is an eclectic blend of in-your-face rock and roll production and pure absurdism for 90 highly charged seconds. In what resembles the outcome of a lovechild between absurdist/existentialist philosophy and veggietales, The FADER had to say of the video “For the clip, Chicago-based DIY musician Nnamdi Ogbonnaya dreamt up a surreal world in which carrots and broccoli have imposed a reign of terror.”
At the risk of contributing to the overly liberal usage of this phrasing, this music video is undoubtedly unlike anything anyone of us has seen before. Speaking on the track, Stove’s Steve Hartlett has to say “‘’Stupidest’ is about losing everything and feeling responsible for it all. The weight you feel with nowhere to confide but your half-empty bed.”
Watch the introspective, legume-based romp here.
