Greys Stream Sophomore LP Outer Heaven via SPIN Records Ahead of April 22 Release, Announce Spring Tour

The ever ambitious Toronto noise rock quartet Greys announced that their sophomore LP, Outer Heaven, would be available to stream via SPIN records, with an in-depth look at each track on the release. Additionally, the album is available for pre-order both in the United States and Canada via Carpark and Buzz respectively. Fans can stream the album below and check out the full article over on SPIN here!

In the wake of 2015’s Repulsion EP, Greys have, if nothing else, aptly titled their sophomore release, with Outer Heaven feeling much more capacious than prior works from this group. When a band expands their soundscape in such a manner, overreaching can become a realistic and perhaps unforeseen problem for bands, especially those more recent. This couldn’t be further from the case with Greys, with the group eager to expand upon their noise rock foundation throughout these previously expanded environments. Both Repulsion and now Outer Heaven have aptly demonstrated this new sound for the group, effortlessly progressing to a period of self-actualization and realization from their more tributary 2014 debut If Anything.

Whilst carving their own place within both the noise genre and countless other cohorts, the lyricism of Outer Heaven deserves immense praise and attention as well, with the group tackling multifaceted topics such as contemporary fratricide in the form of teenagers murdering another one of their students, technological singularity, as well as mental health, specifically in the form of a partner who is unable to comprehend and empathize with manifestations of depression throughout an incessant and undoubtedly harrowing period in the Greys frontman’s life.
