Vance Joy Sells Out DC For Two Nights

Two nights in a row, Vance Joy was able to sell out one of the most prestigious venues in Washington, DC. The 9:30 Club has quite the reputation for pulling in large alternative-indie acts, so there was no surprise the two tour dates sold out within days. Since its 2014 debut, Dream Your Life Away, has sold numerous copies world-wide, featuring top hits such as “Riptide” and “Georgia,” creating quite an impact on the music community.

Hundreds of people lined up in front of the venue hours before doors, eagerly anticipating the first night of the Fire and Flood Tour in the district. As the performers took stage promptly at 9:30, as the venue is best known for, thousands of screams illuminated the room, cheering on the Australian native. Opening the set with “Mess is Mine,” there was an instant sing-a-long that was prompted from the get-go. The energy of the audience created a tremendous atmosphere that made individuals feel at home as drinks and cellphones were waving in the air to Keogh’s melodies. As James told story after story about the various songs he has written throughout the years, including “Red Eye” that was based off of two lovers trying to meet with each other while one is catching a red eye plane, he had the ability not only to captivate the listeners that night, but give Washington DC a glimpse of his memories. Vance Joy was able to leave quite the impression at The 9:30 Club this past weekend, leaving the district entangled in every lyric sung that night.

There are FOUR more days left of the Fire and Flood Tour. Make sure to check out Vance Joy on the remaining dates!
