Hunter Valentine – The Pledge Review

Hunter Valentine made some huge announcements to start off the year – one of which being that they’re going on tour, which we covered in a previous article here. In addition, Hunter Valentine released their most recent EP, The Pledge, yesterday for fans.

Hunter Valentine’s all female line–up includes founding members Kiyomi McCloskey and Laura Petracca, as well as touring members Leanne Bowes and Lisa Bianco. They were even selected by Revolver Magazine to be part of the 2012 “Hottest Chicks in Metal” Issue. The powerhouse rock group have appeared as TV personalities (VH1’s Make Or Break: The Linda Perry Project and Showtime Network’s The Real L Word) and have toured all over the world.

The Pledge is the groups first work since their 2012 album release, Collide and Conquer. The new EP is a collective of work – 6 select songs chosen out of 20. Hunter Valentine worked with different musicians to create a sound they felt compelled to share, and in the words of Laura Petracca, “to go out with a bang.”

The six track EP is definitely a bang. The hard hitting instrumentals and powerful lyrics give seasoned musicians Hunter Valentine a great sound that listeners should be excited for. “Burn With It” is definitely my favorite track off the EP, but I think every song off this EP is worth a repeat listen.

Rating: 7/10

We wish Hunter Valentine the best of luck on their tour, and their future.
